Cat Peeing Outside the Litter Box?

Cats peeing outside the litter box, indeed.  Urination outside the litter box is the most common behavior problem, but it can be prevented before it starts or simply stopped after it starts -- with the right expertise.  If you wait too long to stop it, the cost in damaged furniture, carpet, floorboard, and relationships can be quite costly.  We've had clients whose cats had ruined more than one home before the clients came to us.

The pee had gone behind the walls, as did the urine cleaner.  The sheetrock was a total loss.  The cat's owners had to repaint the room as well.  But that's not all.  Pee had dripped down the wall into the baseboards, ruining them.  Pee got under the sub-flooring.  It, along with the carpet and pad, had to be replaced. There was even pee in the electrical sockets.

After we helped this client, none of this ever happened again.

If more cat owners already knew what we teach  our clients every day, a lot fewer cats would be abandoned in shelters or subject to feline euthanasia (currently millions each year).  How tragic, that so many cats are lost because so many owners are at a loss about how to stop one of the most easily solved feline behavior problems.

Using our three-part C.A.T. Plan, which we customize just for you and your cat, in your cat behavior consultation we'll show you:

  • how your behavior is likely a partial cause of the unwanted urination problem

  • how your cat's instincts guide his litter box needs -- and the simple things you can do to meet these needs.

  • the retraining process so that your cat pees in the litter box every time

  • the most up-to-date cat-behavior modification techniques to help you reverse your cat's the behavior in soiled areas.

  • why social conflict among cats is often the cause for unwanted urination -- and what you can do about it

  • which litters we recommend for general maintenance, which are best for retraining your cat, and which are probably part of the problem!

  • and much more

"We have 3 cats.  My female cat Violet had been urinating all over my home everyday for 9 years.  I had my furniture, even my bed, covered in plastic.  Mieshelle asked me a lot of questions and told me why my cat was peeing everywhere (it was my other cat's fault!) and also how to deal with the problem.  I can't believe she is using the litter box again after all these years!   I no longer have everything covered in plastic!  I only regret not getting help from Mieshelle sooner!  My cat is also more confident and content around the other two cats."

-- Vicki L.  Vancouver, WA

"Woohoo!  My cat peed in her box immediately after I (
behavior advice removed)  and she hasn't peed elsewhere since.  I'm shocked - out of all the Google searches and people I asked about litterbox issues, no one mentioned (behavior advice removed), which I obviously would have tried if I'd known about it before.

     "Thanks so much for everything!"

-- Eliza R., Pasadena, CA

"Our vet enjoyed working with you and the entire staff is so thankful you helped us with our cat's issues. I think they were really getting tired of seeing this cat week after week! If only this knowledge was more readily available to cat owners, there would be less of them in the shelters! I will follow-up with you after our vacation. Thank you!!"

S. Berger, New York, NY

"Chardonnay is no longer urinating on our couch and bed. It has been 3 weeks and no accidents! Thanks you! I really think it was the (behavior advice removed).  Our vet wants to take you out to lunch! I think they're just happy not to see us in the clinic every week for this urinating issue! Your knowledge has saved our household!"

-- Marci and Sigmund W., New York, NY

We are a cat behavior consultancy practice for the English-speaking world.  If you're like the rest of our satisfied clients, you've realized the superficial tips and tricks on the internet, from friends, and from books aren't working.  Even most vets give incomplete and obsolete advice; after all, they're medical doctors, not psychologists.

And no surprise - cat behavior is highly complex, and solving it requires both expertise and  specific, specialized information about your cat.  That means a conversation with an expert.  The information and help you receive from our cat behaviorist, is up to date in the latest trends of animal psychology and unlike what you've read on the internet or received from your vet.
