Cat Behaviorist and Cat Trainer
Schedule with Cat Behaviorist and New York Times Acclaimed Feline Behavior Science Author, Mieshelle Nagelschneider.
You have the African wildcat, your domestic cat’s ancestor, to thank for many of your cat’s “unwanted” behaviors. Learn more about this during your consultation to better understand and help your cat.
Like your cat(s), Rory is a descendant of the African wildcat (Felis silvestris lybica).
Mieshelle goes beyond the obvious facts and gives intelligent solutions to solve perplexing behavior issues.
Mieshelle is here to solve your cat’s behavior issue(s). Like it or not, working with a cat behaviorist that is not only certified, but has formal education and experiential work in cat behavior is vital in solving any cat behavior issue (The Cat Behavior Clinic has all of these). Without a behavior plan that’s carefully created drawing from current research on cat behavior to appropriately address all the critical components and factors of a presenting behavior, is like trying to conduct a symphony without sight or sound. Behavior plans that completely eliminate a cat behavior issue are not one-size-fits-all, which is why we are here for additional correspondence (phone follow-up consults) after your consultation should any changes or additions need applied to your cat’s behavior plan. Cats are not all the same and can respond differently to various techniques and a behavior plan should respond and reflect your cat’s uniqueness.
At The Cat Behavior Clinic we have a licensed veterinarian and a cat behaviorist with and formal study in cat behavior that take the time to practice responsible and ethical behavior care for cats. We offer long phone appointments to provide you and your cat(s) an effective and all-encompassing behavior plan. Dedicated to the study of cat behavior (especially the African wildcat and animal cognition), The Cat Behavior Clinic conducts behavior studies as part of many of our behavior consultations. This invaluable information benefits not only the consulting cat and owner, but also the lives of cats everywhere.
She travels to lecture on cat behavior and in addition to working with the Animal Welfare League internationally, has authored a scholarly cited and science-based cat behavior book (Random House Publishing along with co-author Cameron Powell) with the latest strategies to help cats — as opposed to other cat behavior books filled with obsolete and incomplete advice you can easily find on the internet.
As the International Cat Behavior Expert for Whiskas on their international cat behavior media tour, Mieshelle educated cat owners on the latest research in cat behavior to better understand and help their cats. She has guest starred as “The Cat Whisperer” on Animal Planet, the behaviorist for a National Geographic documentary, The Wild Side of Cats, made numerous guest television appearances on shows like The Today Show, The Circle, The Sunrise Show, FOX, and countless other radio shows and media interviews across the country and internationally. She has been vet-referred since 1999 and has performed thousands of consultations in-person, by phone and email. She is also a long time member of the Animal Behavior Society and the Association of Animal Behavior Professionals, and Cat Behavior Counselors.
Mieshelle can solve your cat’s behavior issues with a behavior plan designed for your cat(s) that include the latest scientific research and advanced techniques that have helped thousands of cats and their owners. Litter box elimination issues, urine marking, excessive meowing, inter-cat social and aggression issues, are her specialty. Mieshelle is also known for solving behavior issues that are deemed “unfixable”. As a responsible behaviorist for your cat, Mieshelle has on staff a licensed veterinarian for consultations that should be conducted with a veterinarian.
Through our science-based Cat Whisperer® feline consulting services (which includes the Nagelschneider Method for feline social facilitation), we have more experience in solving unwanted cat behaviors, with more cats, than anyone in North America — and probably the world. And that’s no fluff. But don’t take our word for it. The Cat Behavior Clinic has more testimonials than any other behaviorist or cat clinic since 1999. See what people just like you have said about us.
Customized behavior plans: Mieshelle’s most recent study of animal behavior was at Harvard University with a focus on animal cognition. Best of all, the Clinic has exclusive rights to Mieshelle Nagelschneider’s proprietary, easy-to-implement C.A.T. Plan™ positive behavior modification, the most effective, comprehensive, and up-to-date system for curing any cat behavior problem. Because every cat and environment is different, the plan allows for customized behavior techniques and environmental changes when needed – because cat behavior is not one-size-fits all. Mieshelle has spent 20 years developing a method so effective that when clients follow it, their success rate is well over 90% (even higher for the most common issues)!
“Thanks so much for your help, Mieshelle!”
